Ophelia
This was the last work I made during Halloween. I wanted to experiment with drawing water and the effects it has on various objects, i.e hair, clothing, etc.
This piece is also meant to portray the Ophelia's death from Shakespeare's Hamlet, so I was also testing what makes a character in an image look alive. As well as what makes them look not so alive. It was quite difficult to do this drawing; I wanted to give her rosy cheeks and bright eyes like I usually do for my drawings, but that wasn't the effect I was going for. The overall mood of the picture is muted and dreary, a little dead, because that's the feeling I get from most of Shakespeare's works.
