When I created this piece it was around Halloween, so as you can imagine I was in the spirit of the season. I wanted to create something comepletely different from what I had done previously, which were mostly vibrantly colored images of pretty people I had either seen or imagined.

I wanted the picture to be of something slightly unsettling without being too grotesque; I had recently watched amazing Halloween makeup artists on Youtube. So I decided to draw this creature that one of the artists had portrayed.
